After two years I decided one Aussie wasnít enough & went looking for a good foundation bitch. Amanda & Ben had a litter due with outstanding bloodlines, which are ĺ Ironhorse (USA).
Fern, a black tri bitch arrived in early March 2004 & settled right in. Since then she has matured into a lovely type, with a stunning head, body & movement to match.
At the NSW Australian Shepherd Specialty Fern was moved up inline in the Best Headed & Best Gaited Bitch classes.
She has won many bitch challenges, short show career, including winning challenge bitch & RUBOB at Launceston Royal show in 2004, in March 2005 she did win a BOB beating Scandal & gaining 9pts.
She doesnít like travelling as much as Scandal, though she will settle back & sleep while I drive, but prefers to just sit with you on the couch, or when sleeping on the bed she will lay close to me, & I have woken up on numerous occasions with her head on the pillow next door!!
Fern also has a great Aussie temperament Fern literately throws herself at you & seems to prefer human company, she follows me about on the property, I have also found her on numerous occasions while feeding my old pony, laying down next to him eating any food that falls out of his bin.
She isnít as keen on having baths or grooming, though puts up with it.
She passed her HIT at 8mths of age making her the youngest Aussie in Tassie to gain her herding title though not as keen as Scandal at herding; I hope to continue with her.
Fern has been eye tested each year & cleared, she has been hip/elbow tested, & will have a litter in 2006 to Scandal.
Two of Fernís siblingís have also gained their Australian Championships, they can be seen on my links page.
Fern will come back into the show ring for the Royals & hopefully get into herding again after her first litter The "Silver Brumby" Litter, please see litter page for pics of the puppies & their proud owners, from this litter we have had in show/group winners as well as many showing natural herding ability, with some starting in obedience/agility.
